General features

Características

The filtration process consists on separating water and suspended waste.

Water goes down the sand filtering bed where dirt particles and solid waste remain. The filtering system with its moving arms lets the now filtered water supply the irrigation system.

The cleaning phase starts when the sand filter becomes dirty and the water flow decreases. It produces a difference in pressure between the water inlet and the outlet which activates the automatic cleaning system (backwash).

The backwash process works by inverting the water flow which causes the filtered water to ascend dragging the accumulated waste and expelling it through the drain.
